Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMCentral Standard Time UTC -06:00

Economics is the study of how societies decide to and do use finite resources in an attempt to satisfy demand for goods and services. This entails the study of resources, production, distribution and demand by various sectors including consumers, businesses, government and foreign entities. Understanding economics from a variety of theoretical perspectives is critical to understanding the world in which we live.

Developing the ability to analyze society is a core component of anyone’s education and personal development, and thus, the sociology major facilitates any career. In addition, sociology majors can design a specific program of study in preparation for graduate school, professional school (law, business, medicine) and for careers in social service, government, research, consulting, teaching or business.
